There's an awkwardness in the First anything. Your first introduction, your first date, first kiss, first restraining ord-erm misunderstanding. Putting yourself out for strangers to know is hard, and it's even harder to know where to start. Small children have no trouble at all making friends because they haven't quite built up the kind of pretense that "adults" (larger, wrinklier, more jaded children) like to put on it. So let's do this circa second grade style: Hi! My name is Laura, but my family calls me Beanie. I like to draw pictures. Let's be friends <3
